Early Football Memory: I didn’t like football in my freshman year in high school. It didn’t interest me. I wanted to play baseball. I never thought of playing football, come to think of it. My sophomore year I got a chance to run with the ball. I found that was real fun.

Greatest Sports Moment: In Little League hitting a grand slam home run. We won the League and everything with that hit. Still have the trophy too – on my desk in my office in California. It was in the bottom of the seventh, over the left field fence. Deep. It was a good one (age 12).

Toughest Competitors Encountered: Steve Largent. John Stallworth. Jerry Rice. Art Monk. Those guys will fight you until the end. Go at you, go at you, go at you.

Funniest Players Encountered: Other than myself [smiles]… (David) Meggett. He’s just talking constantly. He talks so much, to see if he’s alive I think. Also Stephen Baker, Joey Smith and Mark Ingram were funny. I keep thinking of myself. If you take this game too seriously, you’ll lose your hair.

Favorite Meal: Spaghetti and meatballs.

Favorite Breakfast Cereal: Froot Loops.

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Pistachio cashew.

Favorite Athletes To Watch: George Brett – because of his concentration on hitting. Nolan Ryan. Dave Winfield. OJ Anderson. LT. The older guys.

Musical Tastes: Strictly jazz, Pat Metheny, old David Brubeck. I could go on forever.

Interesting Fact: My spontaneous sense of humor. I’m just quick with a response, a comeback. I’m great at ad-libbing. I remember when I was little, I was in front of the mirror singing a song or acting a part from a movie.

People Qualities Most Admired: My mother Eunice.

Future Ambitions: Win another championship before I leave. That would be nice. To further expand my sports retail stores in California (Sports Stuff). We have 14. My main objective after football is acting, preferably movies, I’d also like to write my own movie, a comedy.
