First memory of TV News: Watching the Weather Channel almost daily starting around 6 years old.
Inspirations: Meteorologists Harvey Leonard and Jim Cantore were probably two of my biggest inspirations when I was young
Favorite movies: Harry Potter, Wind River, and Dazed and Confused
Last book read: Summer’s Lease by John D. Nesbitt
Childhood dreams: Since a young age, I’ve wanted to be a meteorologist. You could say I’m living my childhood dream now.
First job: Sailing instructor and dock staff at the MIT Sailing Pavilion.
First famous person you met or encountered: When I was a young boy I met Tom Fitzgerald, then a Boston Bruins hockey player. He is now the general manager of the New Jersey Devils.
Early TV News memory: At my first job in El Paso, TX, I did the forecast with a puppy after only a couple weeks on the job.
Greatest career moment: Covering Hurricane Milton for several straight hours.
Most painful career moment: Seeing the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Many people in the area lost everything and some lost their lives. Looking back, I wonder how I could have reached and informed more people of the dangers.
Embarrassing TV News memory: During my first ever professional newscast in July 2017 at KVIA in El Paso, I remember having issues with my clicker and my presentation turned out awful. Thankfully, I improved quickly after that.
Funny career memory: One night, during the 10 pm weekend show at KVIA in El Paso we were getting ready to go on late due to college football on Saturday evenings, but programming was cut short and came straight to us instead. Our director had no idea, and our pre-show chat and camera framing were all broadcast for about a minute and a half. We got several funny comments by viewers about this; they seemed to enjoy the glimpse they got of us getting ready for a show.
Favorite ice cream flavor: Anything with chocolate.
Hobbies/Interests: Weightlifting, running, golf, and being out in nature.
Favorite artists: George Strait, The Turnpike Troubadours, Caamp, and The Eagles.
People qualities most admired: Kindness and good communication.
Education: North Carolina State University, B.S. in Meteorology, Class of 2017.
