First Memory of Art: I saw the first time in my life the abstract painting from the French artist Auguste Herbin. I was 12 years old and I saw this painting. I was very impressed by this abstract, geometric. It put it in my memory.
Inspirations: Sport and nature.
Favorite Movie: The Wizard Of Oz.
Last Book Read: The story about Flora Tristan, was a lady, Peruvian/French (socialist activist and grandmother of artist Paul Gauguin).
First Job: I received my first check for designing furniture for kids. In the beautiful contemporary furniture shop in Venezuela when I was living there.
First Famous Person You Met Or Encountered: Was one of my admired people – the painter Jesus Soto. Very famous in Venezuela, very good, very successful painter.
Greatest Career Moment: Right now, because I’m alive!
Most Painful Moment: Nothing happened yet [laughs]!
Funny Career Memory: Many, many, many of them. Many of them. But I leave the imagination for the public to think about this.
Favorite Artists: American sculptor Calder.
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Coffee.
Childhood Dream: To be there. To be something. Be artist, sculptor. And my dream is come true.
People Qualities Most Admired: The smile. People with a smile. Every door is open with your smile.
Career Accomplishments: Created the newspaper comic strip The Castaway published in major newspapers in Venezuela and also Sarasota Observer; public art displays in Jupiter, FL, Norfolk, VA, Park City, Utah; Reno, NV, Tokyo, Japan, etc; Art Director at Caracas Children’s Museum; Graduated from Nuemann Institute Of Design in Caracas with degree in industrial design; Creates the annual championship and runner-up trophy sculptures for the Elizabeth Moore Sarasota Open ATP Challenger tennis tournament.
